Congratulations Phoebe for completing the Great West Run!

Run, Phoebe, Run! That’s what we were hollering a few weeks ago as we watched our very own Flea take on the Great West Run in Exeter on May 21st.
The daughter of our Chef-owner Sam, Phoebe tackled this almighty challenge in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity following their fantastic support of her friend Sophie, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

The Training

FORCE Cancer Charity is a marvellous organisation that provides unparalleled support for those who are affected by cancer – from helping patients and their families to funding life-saving research and buying equipment for local hospitals, this cause goes above and beyond for those impacted by this illness. Although not an avid runner, Phoebe gritted her teeth, tightened her laces and carried out hours of intense training alongside her friend and PT, Dan Hall, to prepare for this mammoth task. It’s not been an easy feat, but she was determined to complete the race with a smile on her face.

The Big Day

In addition to her arduous physical training, Phoebe fundraised as much cash as possible to support her cause with £1,475raised by the time she crossed the oh-so-appealing finish line. Of course, we were all there to support her on the big day, whooping and shouting at the top of our lungs to spur her on!We’re extremely proud of Flea for completing such a huge challenge. Her story is a reminder of the power of friendship and the importance of supporting those who are going through a tough time, something we really resonate with being such a tightly-knit family. It’s a reminder that we can all make a difference in the fight against cancer.

There's still time

Although the gruelling event is in the past, you can still get those last-minute donations in to show your support. To those who donated, whether it was big or small, we are so grateful.

Thank you from all of the team at Harry’s Restaurant.
