English Wine Week - Our picks

Wine lovers – rejoice. English Wine Week has arrived and we’re paying homage to some of the finest vinos that have been grown and produced in our native England.

Here at Harry’s we are champions of all things local, wherever possible! English wines have been quietly creeping up the wine rankings for many years and we are fortunate enough to have a wealth of wonderful wines on our doorstep. We are thrilled to bring several special bottles to our list during this English Wine Week!

Chapel Down - Sparkling Brut NV

This English sparkling wine is produced in the Kent countryside using a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Blanc. Chapel Down has many plaudits including The Independent, The Guardian and the Evening Standard. It’s not hard to see why – winning a silver award in Wine GB 2021 it has garnered wide acclaim. Aromas of red apple and freshly baked bread combined with notes of strawberry and quince making this delicious fizz quintessentially English. Excellent as an aperitif, this fizz means business!

Nyetimber - Rosé Multi Vintage

This veteran wine producer is a stalwart within the industry. Beginning their journey over 30 years ago, they produce sparkling wine using the classic Champagne grape varietals. Filled with notes of British summer fruits and hints of shortbread – a true staple of English flavours! This wine pairs perfectly with our salmon paté or a white fish often on our specials.

Lyme Bay Pinot Noir
Wine

Lyme Bay Winery - Pinot Noir

When it comes to British reds, Lyme Bay Pinot Noir stands tall among the crowd. With notes of vibrant red fruit, complemented by smoky vanilla and tobacco, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 11 months adding to the complexity of the wine. It is absolutely heavenly with our chateaubriand.

Lyme Bay Winery - Chardonnay

We’ve brought an oldie but a goodie, especially for English Wine Week. Super local, only 25 miles away from us – just down the coast. Enriched with notes of green apple and sweet honeysuckle. Citrus and creamy, it works perfectly with our chicken Milanese or lobster roll.

Proud supporters

English wine continues to go from strength to strength, with many becoming recognised worldwide for their excellence and flavour. We’re proud to continue to support our local producers and look forward to enjoying more glorious English wine in this glorious English sunshine.
