The Launch

We launched and unveiled the artwork on Sunday 15th October and were bowled over by the enthusiasm of our guests. Tickets sold out within 6 hours and so, by popular demand, we opened up an additional time slot. Thank you to each and every one of you for attending and making the night such a success! Fizz, canapés and socialising were had but the true star of the show was the artwork.

We’ll have all the artwork adorning our walls until 23rd December but when pieces are sold, they will be marked as such. To avoid disappointment, come by and reserve your piece now – perfect for a Christmas gift!

The Gallery

Brandler Galleries specialises in modern British art, illustrations for children’s publications and English old masters. A chance encounter with the owner, John, has led to the spectacular collaboration. John comes from a dealing background. His grandfather was an auctioneer, so it’s no wonder that he was dealing in antique furniture before he was even out of school!

John’s interest in art was piqued when he was at a house sale. He purchased his first Carel Weight, and Brandler Galleries has gone from strength to strength since, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2022.

The Artists

Paradoxically one of the most well-known artists of all time, yet with an unknown identity, Banksy, is inspired by French stencil artist Blek Le Rat and has become a symbol of modern British culture, as well as a social, political and artistic icon.

Posing under the mysteriously compelling guise of Missouri-born twins Franklyn and Brendan Connor, who were supposedly part of a cult, the duo escaped to New York ‘to make sense of the world’ they had been deprived of. The Connor Brothers rapidly gained popularity and fame following their creation of playful yet equally profound works. As the duo experienced increasing success for eighteen months under the pseudonym of The Connor Brothers, it was decided to reveal their true identities, dealers-turned-artists Mike Snelle and James Golding. The revelation resulted in even greater success.
